This guide has been developed in response to UNSCR 2535 for Member States and seeks to contribute to the operational readiness and capacity of national public officials in the implementation of the youth, peace and security agenda at country level.
The guide is intended to be used by public officials working at various levels of government in management and coordination roles, but it can also be of interest to other stakeholders engaged in the implementation of the youth, peace and security agenda at the country level, such as officials working for intergovernmental institutions and representatives of youth-led and youth-focused groups and organizations.
The development of the guide was coordinated by the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth (OSGEY) in partnership with FBA, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs – Peacebuilding Support Office (UN DPPA/PBSO), the United Network of Young Peacebuilders and Search for Common Ground.
The process for the realization of the guide included consultations with 35 Member States, four Regional Intergovernmental Organizations, seven UN entities, and 49 young leaders and experts, and representatives of youth-led, youth-focused, and peace civil society organizations.
