Jens Samuelsson Schjørlien is head of FBA's unit for Democracy and Governance. He previously worked for the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs with issues regarding peacebuilding, the UN and humanitarian aid. Jens has also founded a consultancy group specialized in peace, security and development. As an expert consultant, he undertook work in some 30 countries, including Colombia, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Myanmar, South Sudan and Zimbabwe. In addition, Jens has experience of working with organizational development and evaluations.

Ukrainian Valeriia Pysanko receives the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 Scholarship on Women, Peace and Security, in Memory of Zaida Catalán. As the first scholarship recipient in Ukraine, she will be spending a year with the Ukrainian Women’s Fund in Kyiv.
