Launch of new International Research Working Groups at FBA

Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) works to promote peace in conflict-affected countries. The agency recently launched new International Research Working Groups for the 2023–2027 period.

Through the International Research Working Groups, 75 newly affiliated researchers will contribute with their expertise and research to FBA’s work through thematic, geographical, and methodological advice. By means of their wide-ranging expertise, the groups are expected to strengthen the agency's ability to respond proactively to emerging trends within peace and security.

-FBA conducts operational work in some of the world’s most complex conflict and post-conflict contexts. To be successful in this work, it is of crucial importance that we work closely with the research community. We do this by using and promoting the latest research, says Johanna Malm, Head of Research at FBA.

By means of the recent launch, FBA established 22 research working groups that reflect the Swedish government’s priorities. Notably, for the 2023–2027 period, FBA puts specific emphasis on supporting Ukrainian researchers through the establishment of a research working group consisting of Ukrainian researchers working on issues of thematic relevance to FBA.

Below is the complete list of researchers associated with FBA through the new International Research Working Groups:
