FBA is commissioned to contribute to Sweden’s strategy for bilateral development cooperation with the DRC 2015-2019. At the core of FBA’s work is the peace-building programme, which was inaugurated in March 2017.
The second training session within the programme is held on 4-9 June in Goma in eastern DRC. The 24 participants have been selected on the basis of their ability to influence the development in the war-torn eastern parts of the country. The third and last training session will be held in September and end with an examination.
A similar programme consisting of three training sessions will be organized for a new group of participants in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
– All training sessions are held in French in Goma, with four Congolese subject matter experts who act as mentors for the participants, and teach alongside of FBA’s trainers. We want to ensure that the programme is adapted to the local context and the challenges the participants are facing, says Magdalena Tham Lindell, project manager at the FBA.
