In collaboration with ACCORD, FBA presents a new series of research briefs highlighting different aspects of mediation.
The FBA team participated in the monitoring of administrative hearings at the city courts in Tbilisi and Gori and in Transparency International Georgia's training of trial monitors. The purpose of the visit was to further evaluate the use of the Handbook for Monitoring Administrative Justice as a guide for trial monitors. During the visit, the FBA team also met relevant partners.
Last year, the FBA and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODHIR) jointly developed the Handbook for Monitoring Administrative Justice. The handbook provides guidance for practitioners involved in trial monitoring and is currently being used by Transparency International Georgia in their monitoring of administrative court hearings in six Georgian cities: Tbilisi, Gori, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Batumi and Khelvachauri.
