Karina Shyrokykh, a member of FBA’s International Research Working Groups, leads a new research project that aims to shed light on how Transnational Municipal Cooperation can be deployed in crisis situations.
Civil society organizations are important social actors. They spread knowledge and shape public opinion, teach the importance of democracy, bring communities together and can help people make their voices heard, especially marginalized groups. They defend human rights, not the least in conflict-affected countries.
Between 2004 and 2023, FBA was commissioned by the Swedish government to grant yearly funds to Swedish civil society organizations working with peace and security, in Sweden and globally.
