In collaboration with ACCORD, FBA presents a new series of research briefs highlighting different aspects of mediation.
From the very outset, the key objective of the Stockholm Initiative on Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (SIDDR) was to arrive at a set of recommendations aimed at relevant actors engaged in programmes for disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration of ex-combatants. The goal was to place DDR within the framework of a peace process.
A joint follow-up project was later created in collaboration between the Ministry for
Foreign Affairs of Sweden and the FBA. The idea of the follow-up project was to attempt to test the relevance of the SIDDR recommendations.
The lessons learned from the follow-up project are summarised in this report.
