Security Sector Reform for Practitioners

This booklet aims to provide the reader with a basic overview of security sector reform (SSR) as well as some initial insights necessary to engage in SSR programming.

The aim of SSR is to meet the security needs of men, women, boys and girls through an effective, affordable, transparent and accountable security sector governed by democratic principles.

This booklet is designed for recipients new to the thematic area, and extends to experienced practitioners as an aide-mémoire in their daily work.

The Gender-Responsive Leader's Handbook

FBA’s Gender-Responsive Leadership (GRL) Initiative is designed to support leaders and managers within organizations such as the EU, UN, ECOWAS, OSCE and the African Union to fulfill their central role in enabling gender equal peace, security and development work.
