The Folke Bernadotte Fellowship for Peace Negotiators hosts conversations with individuals who have been well and highly placed within actual negotiations and peace process of a real-life conflict. By systematically capturing, preserving, and applying the expertise of senior practitioners, the Fellowship seeks to institutionalize best practices in negotiation, fostering a more structured and evidence-based approach to conflict resolution.

Capturing, preserving, and applying expertise in peace negotiation

FBA works to enhance the legitimacy and effectiveness of peace processes by providing targeted technical support, tailored to the specific needs of mediation efforts and peace negotiation frameworks.

In response to formal requests for assistance, FBA offers expert guidance on key elements of peace processes, including trust-building between conflict parties, third-party mediation support, and the design and architecture of negotiation processes.

As part of its mandate, FBA is committed to capturing and systematizing the strategic expertise of senior practitioners who have played pivotal roles in peace processes. 

The Folke Bernadotte Fellowship for Peace Negotiatiors serves as a platform for capturing their deep insights, experienced negotiation skills, and first-hand involvement, ensuring that their invaluable knowledge informs and strengthens ongoing and future peace negotiation efforts.
