Netiquette and Comment Guidelines for FBA’s Social Media Channels

FBA uses social media to communicate about the agency’s work, and you are welcome to comment on or share our posts. Questions and comments received via social media platforms are treated as public documents, in the same way as matters submitted to FBA through other channels.

However, comments can be read by many people, and to maintain a pleasant and respectful atmosphere, it is important to consider how you express yourself. To ensure constructive discussions, the following rules apply to everyone.

Maintain a respectful tone in the comments section

We do not allow hateful comments. The following types of comments will be removed:

  • Personal attacks

  • Racism and xenophobia

  • Derogatory language or epithets

  • Comments containing coarse or offensive language

  • Threats or hate speech

  • Incitement against ethnic or national groups

  • We also remove:

  • Comments containing false or misleading information

  • Comments unrelated to the topic, such as marketing or spam

In accordance with the Act on Responsibility for Electronic Bulletin Boards (BBS Act), we also remove posts that clearly violate the law, such as:

Confidential information, incitement against ethnic or national groups, agitation, child pornography, unlawful invasion of privacy, depictions of unlawful violence, copyright infringement, unlawful threats, public incitement, recruitment and training related to terrorist offences, as well as other particularly serious criminal acts.

Violations may result in blocking

FBA determines which posts are to be removed. If you repeatedly violate these comment guidelines despite warnings, you may be blocked from FBA’s social media channels.

If you notice content that you believe breaches these rules, please use the platform’s reporting or private messaging function. By doing so, you help us maintain a comments section that supports constructive and respectful discussions.
