Viking 18 is now over. On this page we have collected news from the exercise that took place in 16-26 April 2018.

Leadership, protection of civilians and the importance of having a gender perspective are hot topics in real international peace and crisis management operations. As a result they also played a key role in Viking 18.


Humanitarian aid is governed by principles of independence and impartiality whereas military actions are based on a political agenda. Is cooperation possible at all?

    Escalation in Ukraine

    No one could have missed the recent escalated Russian aggression against Ukraine.     Cross-border cooperation between Ethiopia and Kenya for conflict prevention and peacebuilding
